He also responds to an absurd Horseshoe Theory ass claim made by Sam Harris regarding anti-Semitism. Then Breht plays a clip from a NYT podcast about Cuba and launches into a classic Red Hot Take style rant on the topic.

couldnt agree more, in fact i thought of Applebaum so much when i heard this interview with Snyder - same liberal bullshit. But theres LOTS of money in providing an intellectual sheen to the imperial ambitions of the US empire, and so they get rewarded fantastically for their efforts

Him and Anne Applebaum (who is definitely worse, sits on board of National Endowment for Democracy, a CIA front) are crazy opportunists when it comes to Russia and Ukraine. They have both weaponized the history of the Ukrainian famine and Stalin’s purges to seamlessly connect modern Russia to Soviet Russia, which is what most Americans do reflexively anyway. When the invasion kicked off my dad called Putin a communist and when I corrected him he said “you know what I mean”.

He will never be anything more than a cheerleader for empire, as long as its ours.
