Development Update 3/31/25

What's New:
Main Debugging Progress
Our main debugging team has been hard at work, primarily tackling soft lock bugs. Soft lock bugs are situations where the player is unable to progress further in the game, but the game still functions and remains playable.
Interactable Outlines
We've added a toggleable outline to puzzle elements within range. These are toggleable between puzzle variants, and should hopefully make puzzles easier to solve!
Sprint Stamina System
A sprint stamina mechanic is in the works, featuring a UI bar and dynamic breathing and heart rate sounds. We're not sure about this mechanic yet, but we're hoping it makes chase scenes a bit more interesting!
More Lore Snippets
Added additional notes, drawings, visual and sound effects, and even a few cutscenes to deepen the story.
Bug Fixes
Crushed 34 bugs this week, making the Prologue build much smoother.
Coming Up Next:
More Debugging & Optimization: We'll keep working on remaining soft lock issues and dive deeper into optimizing the game.
Asset Completion: Wrapping up the final 3D and 2D assets for the Prologue.
Ending Animations: Finalizing Smile and [REDACTED] animations for the ending scenes.
Playtesting Prep: Once polished, we'll pass the build to playtesters to gather feedback on playtimes, benchmarks, and any last-minute tweaks. (still in progress, we’ll let you know when it’s time)
Narration Updates: We'll revise, rewrite, and re-record around five narration scenes based on recent playthroughs. (continued from last week)
