KISS OF LIFE Lose Yourself EP
Added 2024-10-17 22:05:35 +0000 UTCI think I'm realising I have a weird relationship with Kiss Of Life.
On one hand they excite me cos they're 4 unique girls who bring a refreshing more adult like chemistry that you don't find easily AND they have the vocals to back it up. On the other hand, they're soooo close to western groups of ye old times that I can't help but want them to step it up in some way sonically.
Now I do mention in the reaction that their small company budget can only take them so far for sure but I don't think that should hinder how they SELL the songs to us and what persona's they can and should embody because their branding and energy definitely touches on a level of sass and fun that usually doesn't translate to the vocals?
Sometimes you have those moments in Midas Touch or Shhh but I'm looking forward for them to own more throughout their entire discography.
In a weird way they remind me of FLO. I SHOULD be obsessed but they don't make me gag as much as I would like but it's soo confusing cos on paper the ingredients are there but I guess I want them to surprise me more and exceed my expectations as opposed to just meeting them?
That's as best as I could describe it off the fly.

2024-10-18 20:49:54 +0000 UTCYour analysis was spot on. I always feel like something is missing from their songs sometimes that make me go wow! They have all the tools. I just don’t think the tools are being utilized the way they can be used or should be used. I think one of the best parts of being in a studio is the opportunity to play around and see what works. With them being from a smaller company that’s something I wish they would do more since they don’t have the budget to hire these experts. I say let them play with adlibs and feel the music!

2024-10-18 02:10:48 +0000 UTCI feel quite the same way about this album like this group has it all to do great things but the songs don't reflect the potential of the girls (although I love Haneul voice even more now) and also it's my opinion but the 3 lats songs u reacted to do not really match with the vibe of the other ones like it feels a little out of place maybe because of the production or something else I can't name (I don't hate them though) but I like when an album is a little cohesive no matter the genre the artist is trying

What sound do you think they would go for? I'm leaning towards rnb, I think soyeon also likes the genre as she has covered some k-rnb before.
