Episode 7 Progress Update #1

It's hard to estimate exactly where I am because I never know exactly how many renders it will take to finish an episode. But I can say that I'm comfortably at about halfway through rendering the episode. If I'm not quite halfway yet, I'll for sure get there this weekend.

I spoke last week about starting one of the biggest scenes in the episode. I'm nearing the end of the scene and should finish it this weekend, thus putting me at the halfway point. Just to put things in perspective, the party scene from the last episode took me more than two months to render. It helps that there aren't any scenes that are as complicated as that one in this episode.

After this scene, there are a few shorter scenes and the ending scene, which should be pretty big by itself but not as big as the previously mentioned party.

I won't finish renders completely until I finish animations, too. I always render scenes that have animations all at once. It helps me sequence the scenes and decide where animations go and where still renders go. It helps the scene flow smoothly.

Like I always say, renders are the biggest part of making an episode. I'm aiming for shorter goals instead of trying to finish the episode all at once. That means my next goal is the next progress update in two weeks. I'm looking at where I'm at now and hoping to get a big chunk of renders done by then.

My target goal for April is to get animations started before the end of the month. If I think the episode is taking too long to finish, there are places I can move around scenes and just push them into the next episode.

Overall, I think I've made good progress. I have a lot of renders done. Episode 7 will be shorter than Episode 6 but there's going to be a good amount of story and content.

With the end of Episode 6, a lot of questions are being raised. The first question I'm sure a lot of you are asking is whether or not Harlow is okay. Well, if you're the MC you should be, you're going to make sure of that. What happened that night? How did it happen? And what's going to happen as a result of the fire? It'll be your job to figure out what happened in Episode 7. And it all starts right at the scene where we left off.
