Long suffering Bears fan here. JT is spot one about JF being a split second late and rarely reading his progressions. However, I am not thrilled to JF running the football; he missed starts this year with an ankle and sore ribs. We need to keep him healthy and upright. Let's hope the new regime can coach him up, because he's got some skills.

At 1:11:54, where the RB messes up a pass pro, it’s because he doesn’t anticipate 73 on the line dropping, so he was still scanning 55 to 73, but not 55 to 22 like he should have. I just want to know if it’s a more excusable mistake, because assuming the big would come and be unlikely to drop is somewhat justifiable logic.
Is it still the RBs fault? Could that be on the C or QB also? Is It anybody’s fault? Could it just be good defensive play design?
Edit: looking at it again, and they still have 3v3 even if 73 comes, so there’s still no reason for him to be reading that side once 55 drops. So I think it’s still on the RB, but at the very least, I think he still knows he’s supposed to scan 1-2, but he just picked the wrong side for some reason. Maybe he thought they were going to slide the other way?
