First Mix of Piano Trio

No - I didn't specify any fretboard effects. Since the bit in question is played fortissimo on the open C string, I'm guessing is a little tricky to strike repeatedly without a slap effect happening. I actually kind of like the sound but it wasn't intentional :) I'd also point out that the recording is picking up that sound quite a lot because the mics were set up quite close to the instrument. It wasn't really that noticeable live.

Question: around the 2:40 mark, the section with the cello doubling the left-hand piano part, occasionally the cello hits have the sound of the strings hitting the fretboard (I think?), and other times not. Is this the sort of effect you've notated, or is it just a occasional thing that happens when playing, accidentally?
