Attack on Titan Season 4 Trailer: Yay or Nay?

Hey everyone!  Sorry this is so last minute - I was planning on filming my reaction to the AoT s4 trailer tomorrow after I finished ep 22, but wanted to make sure that's the general consensus first!  I usually watch the trailers for next seasons of shows I'm watching, like My Hero or the Demon Slayer movie trailer.  But if this one is too spoiler-y, I'll understand!  Thanks for your input!  You guys are the best!  ~ MH

I still want t he return of Dino.

Adam Stinnett

That trailer doesn't even begin to covey one percent of the scope of the next season, can't even remotely give much away even with split second images which require so much story before and after. Even as the manga ends we have no idea how it's going to go. In fact, I'm kinda worried they are going to cram and rush things or cut a lot things in the anime to fit it all in the next season. Let's see how many episodes they wanna make.

David Caine

You're good. Alot of it will make no sense whatsoever but you will see the final titan shifter but it has cool abilities they don't go into.

Hey everyone! Thank you all so much for taking the time to vote and in many cases, comment to explain your reasoning!!! I really appreciate it! Based on the poll results, I've decided I'm going to watch the trailer! For the folks who didn't agree, I hope you'll understand!! I hear what you're saying, and I think I'll be alright since 1) I won't be lingering on any scenes and I tend to miss a lot in general haha, and 2) I don't plan on re-watching the trailer before I start the new season whenever it comes out (mostly likely several months from now), so chances are I'll have forgotten many details of the trailer by then (sad but true lol). For anything to really stick out in my mind, it would have to be a huge scene with full context, so I think I'm okay watching this trailer and still not knowing anything I shouldn't too far ahead of time! So unless something huge, like a full scene of Sasha eating the World's Largest Loaded Baked Potato, occurs, I think I'll be okay!!!!!!! ^_^ Thank you all again!!!!! You're the BEST!!!! ~ MH

I would have to agree with this. Having also read the manga I can understand that it would be fun to watch the trailer and I am sure many would love see Yourself to react to it and theorize regarding what is to come, although They (much like the opening titles) contain a great many things that may spoil You into what is coming. Whilst I took would ‘like’ to see Your reaction to the trailer,… I ‘more’ so would like (and prefer) to see a Your ‘spoiler-free’ reaction into what occurs in this upcoming fourth season. So far not knowing what is to come, Has been (In my opinion) great regarding Your reactions not knowing what to expect, therefore not knowing what is to come I think will greaten Your experience of Season 4. Of course the final decision is what You desire.

Having read the manga, please watch it. 112+ of your patrons agree with me. Some of the comments that you see here says 'No' to defend their vote because there are only a few of them. ✌️

Having read the manga, I’d say don’t watch it if your goal is really to avoid spoilers. It is a fun trailer though! .. as fun as AoT can be, of course.

Please don't watch it, there will be a lot less surprises if you do :(

Loken

I say watch it, it's a while away. while the best experience will be not seeing or knowing anything (as manga readers went through since we don't get promotional content), since it's far away you might as well watch it, just don't look up too much discussion for it

tom

Manga readers: They are giving everything away Anime-only watchers: WTF is happening!? Haha go watch it, MH! 😅

Czar

I am current on the manga and there are scenes from the latest chapters. It isn't even close to pretty much exclusively really on.

Matthew B

I say no. I feel like it would have felt more amazing seeing a lot of what was in the trailer as actual reveals watching blind. It shows a lot of new stuff imo which actually surprised me. I like watching AoT as blind as possible and experiencing the twists as they come.

DeadmanDevin

There are spoilers, BUT, most of those make sense only in context AND yeah, it might be bad to freeze frame things even if I understand the want to. Even if you DO freeze frame it though, you probably won't get what it's about - I'm all caught up with the manga so I know but I could imagine watching it without context would only be confusing

Gottischan

I've heard from someone who does read the manga that the scenes are pretty much exclusively really early on. Plus, I doubt it will spoil the story for you in anyway. I consider a spoiler as something that explains the story to you piece meal, or shows really important things clearly, to the point that it lessens the experience. To be honest, I think skipping ops is silly, skipping titles even sillier. Some people are just way too sensitive when it comes to that stuff, when it's really only a ''''spoiler'''' in hindsight. (Or it tells you something basic, which, again, doesn't lessen the story as you're watching it) I guarantee the beginning of season 4 will be just as hype whether or not you watch the trailer. I firmly believe that, and I want to see your reaction to it. Like me, you probably won't be able to tell what's going on without context anyways.

Fizzle

Honestly I'd say just go in completely blind.

Senpai

Funny how much people care about spoilers, but then are totally willing to watch a preview for the next season. I'm sure there aren't major spoilers in it, but I'll be avoiding it to the best of my ability regardless!

Corey Hughes

Just don't frame by frame analyse it and I think it's fine. It eludes to certain events, but is probably hard to figure out if you haven't read the manga.

Erik Nilsson

ABSOLUTELY WATCH IT!!! You already watched the season 3 end credits which was basically teasing stuff that you were gonna be watching a few episodes later so watching this for a season that's not gonna be out for at the very least 3 months if not until early 2021 will be fine.

Doccyy

People sometimes are too concerned about spoilers, there are scenes without contest that don't reveal a single thing important about the main plot. Not everything in this show is based in surprise. And when it is, they just don't drop it in a way that will destroy viewers experience.

Meia-noite

i though we already been through this :D i dunno.. i seen it and.. there are quite few scenes that i would say are kinda spoilery i didnt read manga or anything but i just guess.. :D its probably fine.. if you watch it once and not try to analyze every screenshot :D there is quite a lot to analyze lol :D

Dethrox

Just don't freeze frame anything or go back to watch it :P But watching it once all the way through without stopping should be fine

RationallySassy

Looks like you will be watching it, I'm going to avoid it myself, I always prefer to go in totally blind, but I understand if a lot of people who have seen it want to see your reaction :)
