The Rising of the Shield Hero 1x03 "Wave of Catastrophe" reaction & review

Hey everyone!  I'm so excited to start watching this series!  So Raphtalia is older now?!?!
And the partnership between her and Naofumi has really blossomed!  We can still see how distrusting he is of everything, though, which is understandable.  I couldn't believe we got some wave action this soon, but I loved watching them battle it together!  So glad that the townspeople recognized all they did!!!  I was not crazy about an encounter with the other heroes though....particularly not when any certain blonde guys start noticing Raphtalia!
>:(  (I don't think our guy liked it either haha.)  I learn more about this world with each ep, can't wait to see more!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

Ah okay! Yeah, it happened pretty fast!

Melissa Moore

yeah I Remembered Rapthalia "growing up" early but I didn't remember it was this early

Oh good!!! Thank you! Yeah I thought I was going nuts there for a second haha. I see what you mean about Naofumi, he has really grown in terms of how he handles the situation at hand! I do feel like he was more mature that ep 1 but maybe slightly less broken than ep 2 in this one....like maybe having Raphtalia around has brought out just a tiny bit more of his true nature???

Melissa Moore

I see what you mean! Oh no, not looking forward to seeing Motoyasu get even creepier haha....but good to have the heads up! Yes, I love Raphtalia, she is my whole heart now!!!

Melissa Moore

Thank you so much, I'm happy to hear it!!!! XD Really glad you enjoy my reactions and discussions! She is most definitely best girl haha! Hope you love my future reactions as well!

This is really videogame like. Do we get to learn how many waves there will be too?

MH you're NOT alone I was asking the same thing about the time jump. I was expecting to see lil Raphtalia. I kinda liked Naofumi's attitude in this. This is different from episode 1. Not that he wasn't serious before in wanted to prove himself to be a hero aswell but after episode 2 he seems focused with a cooler demeanor. In 2 he was mad now its all seriousness. He tackled stress under pressure in calamity really well.

Manny

great reaction ! your questions will be answered soon :3 about ''time jump'' and the slave mark :D

I think the other three "heroes" are kind of caricatures of some typical protagonists. Itsuki, self-righteous and obsessed with justice; Ren, a cool and aloof loner; Motoyasu, an idiot who only wants a harem. Also, this is the first hint that those three are treating this as if it was a game, they rushed straight for the "raid boss" instead of taking into account the general situation. And if Motoyasu creeped you out here just wait until you see him later, he gets much worse. On a more positive note... yes, Raphtalia is best girl.

Hahahahahaha well he is the exception to the rule I suppose!!!!!!!!! God, I love Konosuba!!!! XD Yes, that's right, he was about to explain something about Demi Humans - thanks for pointing that out! And for clearing that up about the collar/seal. I've seen the next ep now so I got a bit more insight on that! Hmm, good observation that Naofumi has to earn everything! Very interesting plot they've set up here, for sure!

Melissa Moore

As you where talking about the usual Protagonists i thought of Kazuma from Konosuba, and had to laugh. :D Well the shop keep mentioned that Demi Humans are different, and was just about to explain what he ment. So i guess he ment the growth. The slave collar is not that important, its the seal that was placed on her chest. The others are Heroes because they are called that and have the powers, but Naofumi is a Hero because he earns it.
