Celebrate National Preparedness Month by Brainstorming

The theme for all story ideas this month should either be the act of preparing for some sort of doomsday, or the dividends of good preparation. A secure bunker, a comfortable doomsday, or just a glimpse the daily routine of a well-prepared person.
What happened? How did the world end or where did it end? On earth? In space? In a fantasy world? What do the prepping characters accomplish? What monsters or internal conflict will they face? Let's hear your ideas!
The brainstorming session is going to be shorter than usual. Just 48 hours. And I am also going to try to shorten this month's story just a bit. They have gotten out of hand. Other than that, have fun, and let's hear your ideas!
