45 minutes, showing you how I start by layers, the reason why I do what I do, showing pressure, how to build up colour, and why tonal values are your most important part.
Breaking things down so that you don't need to focus on details straight away really helps, starting with texture helps to bring the details out quickly anyway without sitting trying to draw tiny hairs.
I like to give the illusion of details rather than actually draw them ;)
There's no ref photo with this as it's not really a tutorial as such.
Its on pastelmat board, but the principles are the same for any surface - light over dark works better on pastelmat of course.
