Queendom Puzzle Episode 8 (Special) - REACTION

Comments

Full disclosure, I'm so so sorry but I fast forwarded through a lot of this. Mnet is just so redundant! They could've done so much with this episode but of what I watched I had a couple of thoughts about things I wanted to share. As far as Kei and Bora go, I've noticed most people seems to also have the same either/or mindset when it comes to them making the final lineup. I guess it is more uncommon to have 2 power vocalists. Personally, I would go with Kei as well but only for 1 reason and that's that they both had the same part in Snap and I just remember thinking Kei's voice with that melody sounded so perfect. Vocally she impressed me more than anyone that round. Otherwise, they're pretty much even as far as skill goes IMO. Also, I didn't really give an opinion on 'hopeless romantic' but I know you've mentioned a few times that if they had gone up against anyone other than Kei and Bora they could've won and I agree that on a technical level you're absolutely right. There was no one on that team that can match those 2 but here's why I personally would've voted it over 'If we ever meet again'. It was their approach. Kei and Bora, as always, left me impressed with their vocal ability bc vocally that's about as perfect as you can get. I think though that they relied mostly on that skill bc they knew it was unmatched (nothing wrong with doing that btw) but the other team brought such an emotional aspect to their stage. From the facial expressions to the rawness in their voices it left me with such an awestruck feeling. It just felt so deep and I would choose that any day over simply being impressed by talent. Nothing against Kei and Bora though. Them winning wasn't unfair by any means. Just wanted to share my personal preference since we're recapping.

In the top 7 reveal #7 was Hwiseo and she sat at the top, while Kei was #1 and sat at the bottom. In this interim top 7 Nana sits on top (so I ranked her 7th) while Hwiseo sits on the bottom (so I ranked her #1)

Yeah, the "she really deserves it" factor for Bora is very high for me because of the reasons you mentioned. But it's not only her final rank (and juuuust missing out) that made me feel this way. It's also that she consistently ranked in the top spots! And its more or less happening now again: - Out of ALL the solo's, she was ranked #1 by her peers. - Her duet with Kei left people in awe. - She was the highlight and therefor was the deciding factor in the dance battle. I understand that her battle with Fye got cut: can't have too much of one person, and if I had to choose, I'd also pick her solo dance.

crispy chicken

Yes, and even that is the other way round from what you assumed. It goes top to bottom, left to right.

Marcel Wannieck

Oh, I didn't know it was alphabetically. I based it off the positions. With the top 7 revealment we could see #7 was at the back and #1 at the front (center).

crispy chicken

The interim rankings that you have aren't the exact rankings. People in Top 7 are anywhere from 1-7, advance candidates are anywhere in the 8-14 range, etc. Within each category they're ordered alphabetically by the Korean alphabet. So Bora is not necessarily in 19th place specifically. She is just somewhere between 15 and 21. We don't know the precise ranks of anyone.

Marcel Wannieck

Yes, I did get inspired by crispychicken's Lightsum joke 🤪

Normally I watch QP right when it becomes available on Viki but I heard that this is just a recap of the show so far. So I waited to just watch your reaction. - Soeun, not Seeun. - If you ever need any reminders to check out any of these artists, I'm right here :D - Why does Zoa look so much like Billlie's Sheon here? - Admit it, you stole that Lightsum joke from Crispy Chicken. - First Dowha actually needs to get into that group, then we can talk about leaders. - Kei is great but one of the reasons why I want Bora to win is that she's seemingly on every other survival show out there but never wins. Girls Planet, ranked 15th in the final episode. Girls Re:Verse, ranked 7th in the final episode (needed at least 5th to win). Now Queendom Puzzle. - Wait, you're telling me that dance battle had a whole Fye vs. Bora performance that never made it into the episode? - Mnet had some kind of vendetta against Chaerin. Next to no screentime and even her dance battle round was cut out. - That group name is atrocious on all fronts but one thing I really don't understand: why is there a plus sign in there? It contributes nothing. It's not even pronounced. - H1-Key is actually using this show to boost the promotion of their comeback at the end of August! That's at least one. But I really need the companies behind Weeekly, Lightsum, WJSN and especially Weki Meki to step up their game. They haven't had a comeback in forever. And whichever one of the girls who isn't in a group anymore (Dohwa, Miru, Yeeun, Kei, Fye and JooE) and doesn't make it into elzzuP, I hope they use QP to kickstart or boost their solo careers. - That whole Zoa+Jiwoo section felt really pointless. Didn't even show us any cut content. If you're gonna do a full recap of the show, why are only two of the 26 candidates there? Get all of them in! - Mnet, please. This is just tiring. Countdown to an ad break? Really? Why do you do this? Do you WANT us to hate you? - Bora being a candidate for elimination is absolutely unacceptable. - You skipped over the Top 7 canditates by the way.

- I was a little bit disappointed with this episode. I hoped for a fun episode with games and food and stuff, at a nice location. Instead we got rewatching every performance yet again (including Yeeun's mistake for the 13th time. Well, not even a mistake, as the choreographer said it would also depend on luck), and inside the mbc building... 😑 - They called this a bonus episode and it did feel like extra content / behind the scenes, which is fine. But because of this episode, I don't think we are gonna get the fun and games episode we usually get, and that's a bummer 😥 - I really feel that the budget this season is substantially lower in comparison to previous seasons. They also mentioned that the cloud they were sitting on made it go over budget. Come on Mnet! You have 28 stars on your show! Stop being so stingy. Or are you saving up again for the boys version? You also pointed out that the quality was so promising in the first episode, the room with all the stairs. Also the intro with the boxed setup was great. Afterwards I only remember them sitting in that very simple white room. What happened? - This kind of episodes are still my fav though because I'm a fan of these fun idol interactions. Seeing a bit more of their characters in an environment with less stress. - Jiwoo and Zoa getting their whole own segment? That's quite the extra screentime they are getting... I mean, I liked it, but in the end it's still a competition show, so I'm not sure if this is fair towards the others 🤔 - I wish all results were done as quickly as in this recap 😁 - Good of you to notice and pause on those interim results. I was expecting that you would skip it or maybe even didn't notice it, thinking it would be just a recap of the top 7 we already knew. I also paused on it, and wrote their individual ranks down: Current interim TOP7 votes: 1. Hwiseo 2. Kei 3. Yuki 4. Yeeun 5. Yeonhee 6. Yeoreum 7. Nana Candidates to advance to finals: 8. Jihan 9. Jiwoo 10. Juri 11. Wooyeon 12. Elly 13. Suyun 14. Dohwa Candidates for elimination: 15. Fye 16. Jiwon 17. Zoa 18. Soojin 19. Bora 20. Miru 21. Riina - So Yeonhee in top 7 instead of Jihan. That's a bit of a surprise to me. - Yuki in top 7 was already a bit of a surprise to me, but she's now even higher (4 to 3). - Biggest surprise for me is Bora at 19?? That's just not right. 😡

Thank you for this reaction despite the heat. It was really really really fun :D It does get a bit difficult rewatching what we already saw, but it can still be enjoyable and you made it better. Your commentary is always great.

I stayed for the entire reaction. I had to start work when Jiwoo and Zoa came on during the livestream so this is the first time I watched that part. I knew this was going to be a filler episode but I was hoping for a field day like in Kingdom or a quiz/gameshow like in Queendom 1. I never in a million years would have guessed that they would just set them loose in the mnet corporate office just to react to the performances again. And they did film a quiz/gameshow thing before they ate but couldn't be bothered to include it in the episode. They just released it on Youtube today but it doesn't have subs yet. https://youtu.be/BoTH-a9yHc0 It was nice to see some of the other dance battles but now I'm wondering who else performed but got edited out like Chaerin, Fye, and Yuki. Also Chaerin definitely got the most screen time she's ever had after they eliminated her :( I still would have preferred this show to not have eliminations at all but oh well. I'm expecting this next 7 eliminations to be worse as I like everyone who's still on the show. The one good thing about this show is that it's gotten me interested in groups I'd never checked out before. I expect most groups to have a comeback after the show is over. I believe Hikey is coming back on 8/30! Loved the reaction as always and you made this episode more enjoyable.
