Really, escalation is a common problem among many Shonen stories: Dragon Ball, Naruto, Bleach, etc. But at the same time we do see a couple authors learning from that kind of mistake (i.e. My Hero Academia). 2023-05-01 06:12:57 +0000 UTCI felt the ending of the manga went a little bit off the rails, the power levels were so absurd and the person pulling the strings was changing up like every other chapter. It felt like the author had kind of written herself into a corner. I loved the manga all the way until the very final arc, which was fine, but not amazing. At least it had a proper conclusion and wasn't just cut off suddenly like many manga series.

Magi also casually dropping an outer tentie god on its cast in the middle of a war is very par for the course, Lovecraft would be proud
