News on Adam Cole's meeting with Vince McMahon, backstage pitches

Any promise made by Vince McMahon isn't worth a damn thing. He's a boldface liar. He makes empty promises to every wrestler on the roster to get them to go along with whatever stupid idea he has for them, and then goes back on his word, constantly. Nearly every wrestler who has ever left WWE has recounted a story like this, but somehow few of them actually blame Vince for it, instead blaming the writers or producers or anyone else. Vince is an A-class snake oil salesman. I hope Adam Cole doesn't fall for his bullshit like so many others have, because he will undoubtedly be in a dead end feud with some lower-mid-carder within a couple months of his call up.

I'd love to see Austin in AEW as well. Honestly I know it'll never happen but I think it'd be cool to have him do something like UUDD there. I'm not sure how that all works but I wouldn't be surprised if WWE gets their cut of his work.

I'd love for Cole to go to AEW .. I'd miss him on UUDD but wwe has proven they can't book worth crap if it's not Roman ,Cena etc. Professionally he's better off in AEW

It’s real easy to say go to AEW and I personally would enjoy it more if he did. But it’s probably incredibly hard to say no to the money or the chance to be on a wrestlemania card which I have to assume has been a dream for him

As much as Cole is clearly loved on all fronts, I hope he realises that the saying “one swallow is not a summer make” is appropriate here. His fans, deep down (even the hardest of WWE fans) know he is best served, short, medium and long term, away from there. Not just AEW but anywhere. He is a creative force and is not only a great wrestler but charismatic and both loveable and hateable. With freedom, that’s a golden ticket. Without freedom, that’s a golden handcuff.

I’m concerned (like we all are) that Vince is writing checks he can’t or won’t cash! Cole does deserve the world because he is amazing, but the booking has me wanting him to tell Vince to shove it! Or at least get all this stuff in writing so Vince can’t bury him in 2 weeks!

I won't pretend to know what goes on in Adam Cole's mind. But based on his visual reaction on-stream to finding out Breeze was released and the latest round of releases last night, I don't understand why he'd want to stay at this point.

Even if Cole were to sign a big multi year deal, he could easily be released once Nick Khan and Vince decide it’s not worth paying him. That has to be running through Cole’s mind.
