[News] Unpublishing Fledgling tier

The fledgling tier has been part of our patron for years, but it's been a while since I've noticed that due to fees, we haven't been really getting much income from it. What happens is that from the 1USD of the tier, we actually only get a few cents because of credit card + patron fees. So even if we had 100 people pledging on the fledgling tier, it wouldn't convert too much more than 50 USD for us each month. And even Patreon itself is advising us against having 1USD tiers on our pages.
So with that in mind, I've been talking with some other game developers I know and we've seen that for a game with a production cost as high as ours, the 1USD tier doesn't help us as much as it did in the past. The idea now is to merge the fledgling and neonate tiers into the same and unpublish the fledgling tier so people who are already pledging to it can continue to have their benefits, but new patrons can't pledge to it.
What are your thoughts about this?

I pledge to several Patreons that offer all their tiers at both monthly and annual pledge, but I'm not sure if you can have a tier that's only annual.

2022-04-09 21:55:39 +0000 UTCMakes sense. Heres another idea for people that don't have much money: Why not offer a 1 year/12 months fledging tier for 12$ payed at once (also an option for the higher tiers of course, maybe with an small discount)? Magissy offers this too for example.
