0.7 Status Update #10

This week we continued coding and post-processing renders. The first scenes are officially in and waiting for SFX! Next up will be some branch testing. The game is currently tracking a couple hundred variables that affect dialogue and scenes, sometimes with several options. Today's header cat, for example—you could only pet him if you previously selected "petting stray cats" as your favorite hobby on the introduction sheet. That also happens to be the option favored by Eve.
We also continued working on a group scene which is pretty fun to create, but branchy as hell! We'll see if we stick to our original plan for the scene. It feels a bit ambitious right now, but hopefully it'll work out exactly the way we envisioned it.
We also took a moment to think about the extra content, such as the special renders. We decided that they'll be making a return, but perhaps in a smaller size than the previous "wallpaper" size. We'll see about that still. In the end, the specials are fun to create while offering a bit of variety and let us experiment with things outside of the game.
Last week we talked about the design workbench, so here's a little preview from there...
Cassandra 180
For Cassandra's outfit, we were aiming for something casual she'd wear after the gym. We considered slack pants at first, but it didn't seem like her style. We also considered if maybe she'd keep her gym leggings, but they were ultimately too sweaty for her, even if someone might've liked that. So jeggings it is! With a shirt that emphasizes her assets.

Earlier during the scene with the juice box, Ms. Hill will ask MC what they're looking to get out of Art Summer. If you choose the "laid option." This dialogue choice during the closet scene will become available. Now does it impact anything? So far, it's just a dialogue change with Ms. Hill, where MC teases her, asking "if she wants to find out." She'll tell him to behave, and the scene plays out the same. Nothing else comes of it. Yet...?

They're relatively fast and fun to create, plus they're always great for us to test some styles and outfits. And we'll most likely do more of the 180's! One of the girls will also be in a bikini, so maybe she'll have a little spin in one of the status updates. :)

The specials will be a little bit simpler going forward, like Sophie's Halloween special. So not a lot of time will be robbed from updates. And don't worry, there will be plenty of content with Bree and Sophie. :)

2024-11-09 21:11:10 +0000 UTCI want 180s of Mia and Eve in Bikinis!! 🥰🥰 Since Eve is my Favorite Girl along with Mia, I got to pet the cute cat in my first play through of the game. All the hundreds of variables and the big and small changes they create makes Summer Heat even more fun to play through again and again then it already is, which is really saying something! I'm really HAPPY to hear we will get new monthly Special Renders again! They always make the Summer Heat patreon more fun and interesting to visit! If making them smaller is a big time saver I'm sure that will be fine. Sophie's recent Special Halloween Render looked FANTASTIC, and it was a smaller format focusing on Sophie. I'm sure as long as we can see all of our Favorite Girls from the knees up in the new Special Renders most everyone will be very happy with them. Getting to see more of the behind the scenes and design workbench renders would be SUPER also! Cassandra and her incredible "assets" look great in her new outfit! I would love to see the other Side Girls and their beautiful "assets" in their own 180s too anytime you guys have the chance to make that happen! Have a great weekend guys!! 😄

I will finally have news about my favorite game 🥰 It's great to read that you are making great progress 👍 Those variables must be hell. The things you have to consider. It must be madness to memorize all the possible events 🤪 I noticed the cat right away, now I understand. So Eve likes cats...very interesting. And that you were already thinking about it back then. I thought it was just a gag. But I won't be able to stroke her, I've chosen something else. Another playthrough is hereby planned 😅 I'm naive enough to assume that group scenes are harmless...just kidding. I like the group events and the dynamics that are there. All the ladies are watching MC and how he interacts with the other ladies. And I know the feeling of having great ideas and then realizing that you might have overdone it. I don't need extra renders, wallpapers etc. If you enjoy it, then keep it coming. But if it's more stressful, then it's better to invest the time in the game. Cassie looks really good. Another example of how much attention to detail you put into your work. Thanks for that and keep up the good work. And almost forgot: gives Sophie a kiss from me 😍 Have a fantastic weekend and stay healthy.

Side note - I apologize if this has been asked/answered before, but is it possible to make these behind the scenes workshop shots in the posts clickable to blow them up? I remember long ago you did something environmental wise, and in this case Cassie, and it feels criminal not to be able to see this stuff as intended. I mean if you don't have to go out of your way to do so, that is.

2024-11-09 03:30:37 +0000 UTCWhile I personally disagree with creating special renders, as I feel its taking time away from working on the update, at the end of the day the decision is yours as the developers. Although maybe the special renders should be nude then? Might help with rendering and whatnot. Cassandra is looking good. She's not my favourite girl in the game, I'm hoping for content with Bree and Sophie, but the workshop is a great idea and I love that we're already seeing workshop stuff. Looking forward to more in the future!

I like these little variables and branching. I especially like that in the replay gallery, you can select the variables to see the different dialogue or the variable scene without having to go back and restart the whole game just to see a different outcome. That is pretty unique to you guys as far as I'm aware and damn awesome! Ambitious as hell? I mean that sums up this whole project tbf, I think it's great that you strive to achieve your vision and I hope it turns out just as you planned 😁 Well good news and bad news, good news is it looks like we're gonna see more of Cassandra. Though I am very happy to hear from you often. So I plan to move up my tier donation in goodness. Haven't been here long like the others but. Makes me feel almost like talking to an ol friend when you do your updates. ^^
